“Tolle … lege”: Take and Read

Marked Pages first began as a Christian Book Reviews site managed by Wong Ming Yook. Its main aim is still to generate and cultivate interest in reading as part of contemporary Christian culture in Malaysia, and focuses on reviewing and analyzing mainly Christian literature dealing with subjects that range from theology to art to social critique to teaching etc. The diversity of the subjects will hopefully be matched and reflected eventually by a similarly wide range of authors in the choice of books reviewed. Concern for a lack of interest in more thinking and reflective Christian literature locally prompted the setting up of this webpage. Marked Pages hopes that simply drawing attention to the existence of many good writers and books will spark some curiosity among the net community to “take and read.” Reviews are written by Wong Ming Yook unless otherwise indicated.

Since those early days, however, Marked Pages has evolved to include other things as well.  The spiritual life involves as much reading as thinking and reflection. The different categories reflect that concern to foster growth and renewal in the life led by the Spirit.
